Bible Encyclopedia
This is a free on-line Bible encyclopedia. It looks pretty complete to me, and very useful. People, places, things, geography — a great resource! |

Help With Home School and Bible Classes
The Dow's Schoolroom, THE place to go to buy home school curriculum, Bible class supplies, educational supplies, and more. This cool site also features two awesome blogs: I'm In It For The Long Haul (homeschooling) and Diary Of A Bible Class Teacher. |
|
| Supplemental Help For Classes This site is intended as a supplement to your own curriculum. What I found fantastic were the science articles with a Christian foundation, wonderful to use as a scientific base for our children. |

Free Books! The Baldwin Online Children's Literature Project states that it brings yesterday's literature to today's children. What I could see is a great selection of out-of-print books published from 1880 until 1922, with categories that include Nursery Rhymes, Fables, Folk Tales, Myths, Legends and Hero Stories, Literary Fairy Tales, Bible Stories, Nature Stories, Biography, History, Fiction, Poetry, Storytelling, Games, and Craft Activities. A fantastic resource! |
| http://www.incompetech.com/beta/plainGraphPaper/ | Materials Quickly need graph paper? Paper for a game of Dots? Music notation paper? Printed number lines? This site provides PDF printouts of common educational graphs and grids for all levels. |
| http://www.coolmath4kids.com/ | Math Games Here are two different sites filled with fun math games. They cover a wide range of subjects, they are free, and, best of all, they are fun enough that your kids will enjoy them without realizing they are learning something! Hey, they're going to play; why not have them learn something at the same time? |

Science (General)
This is a great science site that makes science fun and interesting as well as providing support materials (chose to "change player settings" to choose your local media player and Internet speed) |
|
Science (Space)
Whether you home school, or just have a kid who is wild about space, go to the people who know. NASA offers lessons, photos, and kid activities. They will even e-mail you a weekly lesson! Some are pretty good, and some are not. A great site! |
|
| Math This is a collection of K-8 interactive math activities gathered by an elementary math teacher; great for individual practice or whole-group interactive whiteboard use. |

Should you ever want to know anything at all about any country in the world, the CIA has the information. How many sweet potatoes are grown, who the mayor is of a particular city, how long is the coastline — here it is! |

Answers.com bills itself as the world's greatest 'encylodictionalmanacapedia' — in other words, the place to go to find out anything. And it does have access to literally hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, and other reference works. I like the links to news stories, the Spelling Bee corner, and the quirky little facts sprinkled liberally throughout. |

This is Wikipedia, the free on-line encyclopedia. Big advantage: it's free and pretty comprehensive. Big disadvantage: anyone can edit it, which makes me wonder how accurate it is. However, my kids' teachers accept it as a resource on class projects, so go figure! |

| Help With Bible Classes This site has coloring sheets, teaching tips, brain teasers, clip art, and even a timeline of the Bible. |
|
| http://www.dltk-bible.com/guides/index.htm | Help With Bible Classes You have to look around on this site, but there are some good ideas. I like the coloring sheets. |
| http://www.rugheaven.com/ | Bible Story Rugs This site has extremely nifty rugs with Bible stories/pictures on them. These are useful in playing games or assigning places to sit on the floor when you're trying to read a Bible story. Great gifts for your children, or give as baby gifts. |

Class Ideas
A source for teaching primary and junior high Bible classes. I've found it useful at times, but incomplete — it has some stories of the Bible, but not all. |
|
|
Puzzles And Games
This is the State of Georgia's school teacher resource center. I use it to make puzzles and games for Bible class, such as word searches, Bingo, and crosswords. Handy. |
|
|
Class Ideas
I go here for ideas for Bible classes, and because they have good articles on teaching and on how to involve children in helping others. |

Clip Art
This is a pretty large directory of absolutely free clip art. You can use it for either personal or commercial use. The pictures are a bit cartoon-y, but, hey, it's free! And if you are Artistically Challenged like me (can't draw a stick figure), this is the site for you. I haven't looked at all the pictures, but so far I haven't seen any objectionable material. |

Puzzles and Games
All right, so Discover School is trying to sell you their software for making puzzles. You can still make puzzles for free on-line, which is handy for Bible classes. |

Clip Art
This is a Bible clip art site. You can buy large versions of the art, or the smaller images are free. |

Our wonderful store! Shop here for T-shirts, mugs, sweatshirts, infant and toddler wear, and more -- all with encouraging scripture or sayings.

OK, I admit it. I am what is known as Artistically Challenged. In other words, I cannot draw, decorate a room, or even arrange flowers without disastrous results. Avonlea Creations is the place to go when you need help! They can do personalized cards, invitations, and stationery. They can do electronic scrapbooks. They can arrange flowers. Plus which, they are very nice ladies. If they would only come clean my kitchen floor, they would be perfect.

| This has a great line of bathing suits for those of us who don't want to show everything God gave us on the beach. | |

They advertise themselves as the world's biggest collection of kid birthday party ideas, and I believe them! This has everything, broken down by ages and interests.

Well, if you are cheap like me (ahem! I mean, frugal!), then this is the place to go for money-saving ideas!

OK, so you want to know the scoop on that computer game your kid wants to buy? Here's the place to go for reviews, ratings, and general information on all types of electronic games, from MOGS to Playstation to Nintendo DS to whatever. They give the scoop on games ranging from very family friendly through games you wouldn't touch with the proverbial ten-foot pole.

Don't make the mistake of thinking this is just for little kids (although there are games for Barney and Clifford fans). The Cyberchase math games are awesome for elementary age kids, and the Zoom site is worth checking out. Totally, totally safe for kids.

| This site calls itself, "Life Explained On Film", and it is the truth! This site is great! At your fingertips are hundreds of short videos showing how to do things, ranging from planting gardens to cooking food to tieing a bow tie and crocheting. Check it out! | |

Please go here before you forward that e-mail about man-eating alligators in Florida toilets to 500 of your closest friends. Yes, every Nigerian bank offer and plea for postcards for dying children has been reviewed at Snopes, and they can tell you if it really is true that Bigfoot is really a very hairy Elvis in disguise.

So, a dear friend or loved one has just been diagnosed with cancer, and you have no idea what to say or do. This PDF gives you "tips for being that supportive person that we often strive to be." I don't know about you, but I sure need this!

OK, this site is cool. You plug in the area code, and you find out not only what region of the world the area code is from, but what time it is there, and even the main cities in the area code region. This is really handy when someone you don't recognize leaves you a phone number and a message to call.

This fascinating site features thousands of ceramic figurines (ca. 800 BC - 200 AD) from Acambaro, Mexico. Hundreds of these figurines are of dinosaurs showing men and dinosaurs living at the same time. The text is a bit strident, but the pictures are fascinating.

Remember Plain Talk? The Gospel Guardian? The Bible Banner? Here are bulletins and periodicals from the early 40's through the 70's, plus archived audio of sermons from those old gospel preachers of the past.

So, your kitchen floor makes little crunch, crunch noises when you walk, you grab a shovel to clean the living room, and you file your papers the geologic method (oldest on bottom). You need to become a flylady! This site tells you how to organize your life, one baby step at a time, using fifteen minute chunks of time and lots of encouragement and humor. If you saw my house, you'd know how desperately I need it!

This site lists gas prices by state, county, and city. I plugged in my zip code and up popped the address of several stations and their prices. It's incomplete (showing mainly major names such as Texaco, Exxon and Shell but not the small station right down the street from my house), but I could see this being very handy when planning a road trip.
